When to visit Slovénie to make the most of your trip?
Slovenia can be discovered almost year-round, but each season reveals a different face. From May to June, the Julian Alps valleys turn green, Lake Bohinj regains its turquoise waters, and the Triglav trails open up to hikers. July and August remain the busiest months, perfect for the Istrian coast around Piran or evenings in Ljubljana's narrow streets, but you'll need to contend with crowds at Bled. September is our favourite season: golden light over the Goriška Brda vineyards, mild temperatures, the emerald Soča river still swimmable. Winter, meanwhile, appeals to ski enthusiasts and thermal spa lovers. Travelling to Slovenia means adjusting your calendar to what you're really looking for.
